If you are looking for a clean, easy drinking Pinot Grigio for summer meals, this is a decent offering in large format. At $9.99 for a 1.5ML this will definitely service the masses, but it won't bring a ton of complexity to the backyard BBQ.

JOH JOS PRUM WEHLENER SONNENUHR AUSLESE - 2006

100% Riesling from Germany.

TASTING NOTES:

Smoky peach and citrus minerality. Smells like gasoline and tastes like Vasoline...and that's a good thing! Silky smooth, tangy, rich with sweet balance and acidity. Floral and lemon accents.

SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:

94 PTS

If you like sweet Rieslings, this is top-notch. Wonderfully integrated sugar. Never cloying or over-the-top. A terrific layered wine that retails for around $38.
