YALUMBA Y SERIES VIOGNIER - 2011

13.5% alcohol from South Australia.

TASTING NOTES:

Rich in color and texture, this white exhibits honeysuckle, orange, and citrus on the nose.  On the palate, there's pear, lemon, lychee and grapefruit. Good acidity with some tartness on the finish.

SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:

88 PTS
I love Australian white wines. They still deliver great value in the marketplace.  I love that the quality is higher than the demand.  This is a very well-made Viognier that won't disappoint. Retails for around $15.

A to Z PINOT GRIS - 2010

13% alcohol. Oregon Pinot Gris.

TASTING NOTES:

Golden color with aromas and flavors of lemon cream sauce, honeysuckle, peaches and lime.  Smooth, juicy and balanced with clean, bright minerality.

SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:

88 PTS
A delicious white that is both easy approachable and affordable. Retails for around $12 a bottle making it an easy recommendation.
