ALONSO DEL YERRO - 2004

100% Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero appellation in Spain.

TASTING NOTES:

Dark inky color with a nose of coffee, vanilla, black fruit and oak. Flavors of cherry, oak, licorice and blackberry round out a smooth and ripe fruit palate with excellent structure. Thick and concentrated with lush tannins.

SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:

91 PTS
Wonderfully made Spanish red with rich flavors and a silky mouthfeel. Parker rated this one 94 points which is a bit aggressive and may push the price up. However, this is a great wine that you should be able to buy for around $21 - $25 a bottle and its well worth that investment.
