VIN SANTO CAPEZZANA RISERVA - 1998

This D.O.C. dessert wine is derived from selected white grapes, mainly Trebbiano and has an alcohol content of 16.5%. The grapes are dried for several months in the traditional manner on cane matting. The must is then fermented and matured for over four years in cherry-wood, oak and chestnut casks.

TASTING NOTES:

Dark amber color with citrus and caramel on the nose. Thick, sweet elixir on the tongue with ripe candied fruit and nuts, honey and a blatantly obvious (and enormous!) hazelnut finish!

SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:

94 PTS
This is simply awesome! The finish on this wine is astounding. The hazelnut is so pronounced and delicious it blew me away. Really, really phenomenal dessert wine.
