TRUE EARTH CABERNET-MERLOT-PETITE SIRAH
True Earth, from The Three Thieves, is made from organically grown grapes in Mendocino County, CA. No pesticides, herbicides, or conventional synthetic fertilizers are used. Tiny amounts of sulfites are used as a preservative to maintain freshness.
The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petite Sirah with an alcohol content of 13.7%.
TASTING NOTES:
Dark red color with subtle blueberry and blackberry on the nose. Light oak flavors with plum and muted fruit are followed by a mild black current finish. Medium-bodied, smooth but thin with a watery edge.
SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:
84 PTS
The fruit is really subdued on this red blend. The wine seems to lack a definitive flavor profile and comes across the palate as "flat." Easy to drink but not too much else here. Retails for around $12 a bottle. Worth sampling if your curious about organic wines, but otherwise it is a pass.

I really enjoyed this True Earth red wine blend. Though I'm no wine expert, I was surprised and found it very delicious and pleasing. This is not readily available in most stores, so I'm having a hard time finding another bottle and hope it becomes more popular. I would definitely recommend this wine to others, as a wine that is smooth, and not too sweet. Just right for me.
