DOMAINE DU PEGAU CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE - 2004

14% alcohol. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre.

TASTING NOTES:

Dusty, cooked meat and sweet fig on the nose. On the palate there's cherry, plum, licorice, tar, tobacco, blackberry, black and white pepper...yes the list goes on. This is a complex wine with just about everything you want from a CDP.

SCORE & RECOMMENDATION:

93+ PTS
A phenomenal wine with tremendous depth. Graced the top of WS Top 10 list in 2007 for all the right reasons. When CDP comes together it really is a sensational wine. There are a lot of them out there that miss the mark, but this one is something special. Believe the hype. Retails for around $75.
